Yamaha has now removed all five special MotoGP editions from its website due to a lack of accessible stock. The 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with variable valve actuation (VVA) technology powers the Aerox 155.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 is now offered in a single form with a price tag of Rs 1.37 lakh, following the cancellation of the MotoGP edition.

The new motorcycle comes with a classic white and red ‘speed block’ color palette, which includes the gold Alloy wheels, Yamaha factory race-bike gold tuning fork insignia, black levers, and unique anniversary badging on the fuel tank.

The Mio Aerox was launched in the Philippines market in February 2021 with the manufacturer’s own “ Y-Connect” feature. It is sold under the Aerox 155 name in Indonesia and Thailand, Mio Aerox 155 in the Philippines,[4] NVX 155 in Malaysia, NVX 125/155 in Vietnam and Aerosports X 155 in China.

Other than Southeast Asia, the Aerox 155 has also been made available in India since September 2021.

The digital cluster also shows a good deal of information, with the usual trip and fuel consumption related data as well as a VVA indicator and a tachometer. And even when you’re caught napping when the signal turns green, the Aerox has your back, bringing the motor to life in an instant when you twist the throttle, thanks to an integrated starter generator unit..

In comparison to the featherlight, quick-turning scooters that we’re used to riding, the Aerox feels distinctly more heavy-steering, and requires some effort to tip into bends. It feels more like its 126kg kerb weight at low speeds, there’s loads of steering lock available, and even though its 790mm seat height is slightly taller than most scooters, it’s still quite accessible. Unlike most petrol scooters in India that use a monoshock, the Aerox gets twin shock absorbers at the rear, and they are set up on the firmer side.

Yamaha has taken quite a brave decision by launching the Aerox 155 in India, because this is not the sort of scooter that’s going to set sales charts on fire.
